LARAMIE'S BASECAMP PRESENTS EXPLORERS NIGHT: ENDURANCE ACROSS TAHOE - REILLY DIBNER

Southern Wyoming may not be well-known for its open water swim opportunities, but the Laramie Plains provides the perfect training venue for ultramarathon swimming. Reilly Dibner swam for hours in Lake Hattie as training to attempt to swim the length of Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America. On the night of August 8th, Reilly started the 21.4 mile swim at the south end of Lake Tahoe, and finished on a beach at the north end 14.5 hours later. She had a phenomenal crew, including Amanda Harper and Becky Whitinok-Huber, who took turns kayaking and helped get her across safely. Ultra marathon swimming can look like a solo sport, but it requires a dedicated team working towards a common goal. Reilly will share her story of swimming across Lake Tahoe, including the training and planning leading up to the swim on October 23rd at 6:30pm at the shop!
