"I live in Arizona and work in a ski shop, but my brother lives in Laramie and got a new ski setup this year meaning I wasn't able to help him get setup and fitted properly. My brother has a disability, and it is often hard to find gear that works with his disability. Base Camp did an incredible job helping him out and getting him set up with the right gear, and even paid to get his boots that he bought there fitted by another shop! I was blown away by how helpful and kind the staff at Base Camp is. It's rare to see staff that cares as much as the people here do. Great people and a great shop!"

Alec and Jodi purchased Basecamp in April of 2022. Their vision is to bring outdoor recreation to everyone, regardless of experience. Sharing their love of community and outdoor spaces has been the hallmark of their professional lives. Along with their son, Rowan, they enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. When not working, the Sheas, and their dogs Zimbleman and Badger, can be found doing something fun outside. Here they are pictured hiking the Middle Teton, back in July 2022.

Meet Mikaela, the store manager! She is a Wyoming native from the Big Horn Mountains, who grew up understanding and appreciating this great state. She enjoys trail running and hiking in the summer, while in the winter time you can find her out skiiing, snowshoeing or snowboarding. Be sure to stop by the store to say ‘hi’ or order the next piece of gear for your outdoor excursions!

Maciej is our ski tech services manager, who has been a resident of Laramie for over 15 years. He learned to tune skis working at Fine Edge, then Cross Country Connections with Ken Cramer for seven years. When he isn’t working, Maciej loves fat biking and cross country, backcountry, and resort skiing in the winter. In the summer he’s usually out riding a bicycle, but sometimes he’ll go for a trail run, backpacking expedition or rock climbing trip. Meet Maciej or Otis, his pit bull, at the shop anytime!

Nolan is a Junior at the University of Wyoming majoring in Civil Engineering and interested in glaciology research. In his free time he enjoys mountaineering, bouldering in Half Acre, and dabbling in mixed climbing.

Austin is a Laramie High School Student and Ski Tech here at Basecamp. He grew up playing outside and spends most of his time outdoors rock climbing and nordic skiing.

I am Luis Caturelli from Argentina. I worked there for many years helping amateur mountaineers to chase their dreams in different mountains of Argentina and Chile. I met Katie, my partner, 5 years ago and that is why I am in this beautiful state with so many adventures to offer. More than loving the mountains, I love helping others to experience adventure and bring them closer to nature.
