Pure 8 Binding
Ideal for lighter skiers, the 280 gram Pure 8 – including length adjustment, brakes and crampon mounts – is very light, less than half the weight of alternatives. Other bindings touting low weight or price include neither brakes or crampon mounts. The Pure 8 weighs just 230 grams with brakes removed, 222 grams without brakes and crampon mounts. The Pure 8 is the lightest high-performance all-mountain touring binding!
The patented CAM heel system adjusts to impact forces, providing far better control, skiing precision and release than simple U Forks. The elastic response system in the heel ensures perfect flex of the ski during compression and excellent skiing performance. The heel piece can be turned in any direction. Step in is very easy.
The Pure 8 has three climbing positions. One climbing position can be selected without any need to twist the heel piece.
Easy toe entry and quick and secure clamping is superior to standard tech bindings. The toe is designed for much easier step-in, even with older and worn boots.
The brake is equipped with an ELASTIC SLIDE on the pad in contact with the boot that keeps the lateral release value of the binding fixed. The brake arms are extra long with wide hooks to stop your skis quickly. Matching crampons easily slide into the crampon hooks when needed. All adjustments on the binding can be made with a standard Phillips screwdriver.
A 20 mm ADJUSTMENT PLATE is integrated in the heel part to assure a fast adjustment in case of boot substitution (up to 2 full sizes).
The Pure 8 perfectly embodies Hagan's prime values: durability, performance, ease of use and value. The Pure binding combined with our Pure and Core series skis provides an outstanding touring package with extreme value.
If you are concerned whether the retention on the Pure 8 can be adjusted low or high enough for you, please note that, as opposed to simple U-Spring bindings, which some say shouldn't be set at the extremes of their adjustment range, the CAM system on the Pure 8 means it can be set right at 3 or 8 with no effect on function.
